Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan	100% minus loan origination fee; A federal loan origination fee is deducted from your loan disbursement before the funds are received and applied to your student account.		No disbursement
Federal Direct Grad PLUS Loan: This loan is no longer available to students who begin their program after July 1, 2026.	Loan is dependent upon projected hours at the time the offer is accepted. A federal loan origination fee is deducted from your loan disbursement before the funds are received and applied to your student account.		No disbursement
Federal TEACH Grant: TEACH Grant amounts are subject to change based on Congressional adjustments.	100% of the term award	50% of the term award	25% of the term award
Federal Work-Study: Federal Work-Study funds are not applied to your university account. Additional Eligibility Information
- Graduate and doctoral students engaged in thesis or dissertation research and enrolled in program-approved thesis or dissertation research courses are classified as half-time students.
- Eligibility for financial aid is based on meeting all general financial aid requirements, need-based criteria, and program-specific enrollment conditions. This includes active and confirmed attendance or participation in all courses for which financial aid is approved.
- It also requires enrollment in courses that count toward your degree program and adherence to the financial aid policy on repeated courses.
- For financial aid purposes, the December intersession is considered part of the winter quarter. Graduate students enrolling only in the December intersession without winter quarter enrollment may qualify for reduced loan amounts.
- Summer enrollment requirements may differ. Read our knowledge article "How to apply for summer financial aid" for more information.
- Withdrawing from courses can have significant consequences. Financial aid may be recalculated if you fail to attend in-person classes or fail to participate in online classes. This could result in losing eligibility for financial aid that has already been disbursed.
- Federal Work-Study eligibility requires active participation in a Federal Work-Study approved DePaul student employment position. It also depends on meeting all general financial aid requirements and program-specific enrollment conditions, including confirmed attendance or participation in all authorized courses.
