As a Music Performance major, you will have opportunities to perform in many of Chicago's most famous music venues, including the Symphony Center, the Merle Reskin Theatre and the Jay Pritzker​ Pavillion in Millenium Park. The School of Music produces more than 300 public performances each year, giving you performance experience that will prepare you for your career.

The Music Performance faculty members are highly accomplished musicians and include members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Metropolitan Opera.

Chicago is known for its vibrant music scene. Concerts of every genre take place each night in the city, and music festivals like Lollapalooza and Pitchfork take place in the summers. There is no shortage of musical entertainment, from blues to jazz, classical to country.
