How to Join DAPP

How to Join DAPP

  1. Complete the DAPP participation form. Indicate your intended date of transfer and major. If you have not decided on a major, you may join DAPP by identifying yourself as an “undeclared major.” Your degree requirements will not be able to be locked in until your major is declared.
  2. Schedule an appointment to meet with a DePaul University transfer counselor at the Loop Campus or at your local community college within a month of submitting the DAPP form.
  3. Confirm that you meet the DAPP participation requirements at your scheduled appointment.

Participation Requirements

  • Meet the required deadline:
    • Planning to enroll at DePaul for Fall Quarter? You must submit a participation form and be approved by December 1st of the prior year.
    • Planning to enroll at DePaul for Winter or Spring quarters? You must submit a participation form and be approved by April 1st of the prior year.
  • Begin your participation in DAPP within your first semester, or as early as possible in your college experience—prior to completing 24 semester hours (36 quarter hours) of college-level credit.
  • Notify both your community college and DePaul University of your intent to participate in the DePaul Admission Partnership Program, as well as your intended date of transfer and major (if known). Notify both schools of changes to your intent, date of transfer, or major.
  • Connect with a DePaul Transfer Admission Counselor for assistance with selecting courses and setting up a transfer plan.
  • Maintain continuous enrollment of at least two courses per term (not including summer) in a transfer degree program.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress. A cumulative GPA of 2.0 is required to maintain your eligibility for admission to DePaul and the program of your choice. DePaul’s College of Education requires a cumulative transfer GPA of 2.5. Animation does have a portfolio requirement.
  • Submit unofficial transcripts each term to your DePaul Transfer Admission Counselor.
  • An official transcript will be required upon applying to DePaul University in order to receive a formal admission decision. A final official transcript from your transfer community college must be submitted prior to enrolling at DePaul University.
  • Enroll as a transfer student at DePaul within three academic years of initial participation in DAPP.
