Types of Aid

Financial aid comes from many different sources: federal and state government, private associations and organizations, your employer and DePaul itself.

Financial aid is grouped into two main categories:

Gift aid is financial assistance that you do not have to repay. It's often awarded based on financial need or academic merit. It includes:

Self-help is financial assistance that must be repaid, or earned through an on-campus job. It includes:
